Review of Unknown (The Forsaken series #1) by Phil Price

The overview of the story had an element of mystery and intrigue, hinting at something different about an ancient evil. This kind of plot always appeals to me, so I’m glad I requested a review of the story.
From the beginning, I was thrown into the plot which commenced in a time from a few centuries ago. All the characters were solid despite some having a short appearance in the story. The reason they felt solid and established is because the author enriched his story from their POVs.
Although I wasn’t scared as I read the pages, I found Unknown creepy and intriguing enough to read throughout the night. My goodness, there were some ruthless blood thirsty “creatures” in the story, so be aware. *wink.wink*I can imagine this story as an evening TV series with spectacular visual effects where ancient evil beings are actively seeking humans for their survival. Let’s put it this way…After reading this story I’m striking out my dream to visit the Himalayas and a few other places… hehehe.

The romance in this gruesome and eerie story added a new depth to the story, albeit I was given me some breaks at times, so I like the roller coaster journey of reading Unknown. In between feeling spooked as I chose to read the story in the middle of the night when everyone was asleep, I couldn’t help but smile at times because of the cute romance. I truly enjoyed myself.

Great plot, intriguing rich POVs, well established characters even though some didn’t survive the whole story, an immersive experience, all contribute to Unknown becoming a good story for escapism. Would I recommend this story to eerie paranormal thriller readers? Yes, I definitely would.

Lothaire (Immortals After Dark #12) by Kresley Cole

“Driven by an insatiable need for revenge, Lothaire, the Lore’s most ruthless vampire, plots to seize the Horde’s crown. But bloodlust and torture have left him on the brink of madness until he finds Elizabeth Peirce. Lothaire intends to offer the young mortal up in exchange for power, yet Elizabeth soothes his tormented mind.”

Have you read this story yet? OMG! This story is a #MustRead. Reading this story was an emotional journey and I loved every minute of it. I adore the series #ImmortalsAfterDark but Lothaire is creme de la creme!!! Lothaire is mad, bad but so deliciously adorable!!!

5 Stars for “Working Out The Kinks” by Misha Horne

A beautiful story.
The way the story was written, simply glued me to my chair (as usual by this author). I felt like I was Landon from the first page till the last.

As a child he felt burdened by his mother’s actions. I understood why he felt so defensive and riddled with insecurities that he could be like this mother…his guilt over what he perceived that he played a part over her life choices. It broke my heart and I think I hurt as much as he did.

Brett naturally was the ultimate man to help Landon to come to terms with his past and I truly loved how the story slowly revealed this.

I loved the characters as they were well established and so concrete in the definition of their strengths and weaknesses. This carefully crafted gem for a story is deeply complex underneath all the plot, dialogue and events, dazzling me throughout. The subtle line between dominance and submission is shown in the most beautiful way , where both parties deeply in need of each other, completing the whole.
